Searching for Excellence:

Centre County’s Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program is held annually to honor Centre County’s Outstanding High School Senior girls. This scholarship and honors program recognizes, awards, and encourages excellence while striving to promote self-esteem among these young women.

Building Your Future:

The OYW Program offers numerous opportunities to strengthen your future. Finalists win scholarships, improve public speaking ability, sharpen interview skills, and develop a greater awareness of self. This program builds character, strengthens values, improves self-confidence, and encourages high school senior girls to set and achieve goals.

Scholarships and Awards:

Since 1965, over 1,000 young women have participated in the Junior Miss/Outstanding Young Woman Program and over $200,000 in scholarships have been awarded.

Who is eligible?:

High School women who will be Seniors in the Fall of 2010 are eligible for the 2011 OYW Scholarship Programs if they have never been married, divorced, or had a marriage annulled. Finalists must be citizens of the United States. They are also required to be a legal resident of Centre County or attend a school located in Centre County.
